Anybody Remember Breakin'?

Girl Gang Violence on the Rise
Those were the good old days, huh? Gangs were all about "battles" which usually consisted of either rapping or break dancing, not stomping and stabbing people. WTH is wrong with these girls and WHERE THE HELL ARE THEIR PARENTS?

Why can't we go back to just dissin' other girls for wearing stuff that's whack, cursin' out hos for frontin' on you, and bustin' people out for talking about yo mama? Okay, I think I've sufficiently dated myself for today. Back in the day when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore, some days I sit and wish I was a kid again...

SMooVs Unsafe For Teens

Duh. I guess some parents think that by putting their teen into an SUV, they're protecting them in case they have an accident because bigger is better, right? Not really. It's about like putting a toddler in the oval office right next to "the button".

If Parents Had it to do Over Again...

One third wouldn't. So sayeth Dr. Phil. Check out the transcript from Meet the Press. Here's an excerpt:
DR. McGRAW: We did a really massive survey and we had about 20,000 respondents generating over 1.7 million pieces of data basically asking, "What's your experience as a parent? What's the hardest thing you face? What's your greatest worry? What's your greatest concern? Tell us what is really happening in the real world in parenting."

And I think one of the most astounding things was that almost a third of the respondents said, "If I knew then what I know now, I probably would not have had children.

Whenever a survey like this is done, people come out of the woodwork to point out that it's unscientific, it's unreliable, blah blah blah. Then why is it that no one will do a scientific, reliable survey? Is it because they suspect the results will be the same?

Childfree Pediatric Surgeon Takes His Life

Dr. Jonathan Drummond-Webb apparently took his own life this morning. It may not seem like a big deal, but he was such an awesome, selfless, childfree man. He and his colleagues were featured in a documentary, first shown on ABC, entitled ICU: Arkansas Children's Hospital.

In looking for links to that show, I of course found a
snide comment relating to the fact that he and his wife never had children. Actually, during the documentary, he did mention that they didn't want children of their own, and that he and his wife always thought of their patients as their children. So yes, he was childfree, and he was still a wonderful man. He devoted his life to saving lives. Lives that might have ended without him. He continued to save lives throughout his bout with cancer.

I remember him and that documentary mainly because his life was kind of an "in your face" to all those who equate being childfree with being evil child haters. His most recent
accomplishment has been all over the news this Christmas: Boy With New Heart Goes Home for Christmas. I also remember him because I've been a part of the Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) experience. Years ago when I lived in Little Rock, I used to volunteer there.

I couldn't find much on the web about him, but I'm sure in the next few days more will pop up as more people learn of his death. I found this
picture (he's the one on the gurney) and this quote:

"The (kids) that make it fade into obscurity," he says. "The ones that don't (make it) come back to haunt you....It keeps you humble and it keeps you honest."

Dr. Jonathan Drummond-Webb will be missed.

Be Fruitful and Multiply

Can we take this one off the bingo card yet, because seriously...we have so multiplied.

Parent Disciplines Children. Film at 11.

I wonder if I'm the only one who is wondering why someone disciplining his children is national news....

The Fyooture

Mad because your school told you you couldn't do something and you did it anyway? Sue 'em. Make 'em pay for following through on their warning. Ladies and gentleman, I give you the future:

I Quit!

What happens when you get tired of TMIJITW? You run away without giving your two weeks notice right? Wrong. You fire your "employer" and your "partner".

Wal-Mart isn't God

Mother of Suicide Victim Sues Wal-Mart Over Gun Sale

They aren't omniscient. They're a store. They sell stuff. That's it. Sad as it may be, it wasn't their fault that this young woman was so sick. It appears it was possibly the fault of the state of Texas. But then, they aren't rich, so why go after them?

Money grubbing breeders. Sickening.

You're Fired!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could fire bad parents? I don't mean just anybody, but those breeders who abuse and/or neglect their children. Make them give all their kids to some nice infertile couple, and make them pay back all the kiddie perks and freebies they've gotten, and send them on their way? Wouldn't that be grand? I'd start with these:

Sheriff: Baby Drinks Mom's Methadone, Dies
File the damn charges. Why in the hell would you put that in a child's sippy cup? Next, we have...

Body of Autistic Missing Pa. Boy Found
Did it ever occur to anyone to install some type of safety device to keep this autistic child from simply walking away? Or maybe, I don't know, keeping an eye on him? Geez. What a horrible way to die. Finally, we have...

Boy's Death Prompts Review of System
Proof that parenting really does make you a better person.

Unfortunately, I'm sure I'll have many more to add to the "You're Fired" files. Lot's more.

Busy Mom Murders Mom-to-Be; Saves Fetus

Gosh...this busy Mom took time away from her two teenagers to murder another woman and steal her fetus. She's definitely important and worthy of worship. Why, we should give her a tax break or something for all her hard work...or at least some special parking.

Lisa Montgomery charged with kidnapping resulting in death

Why is it when Mom and fetus die, it's murder, but if only Mom dies, it's "kidnapping resulting in death"? What's up with that? Oh well. File this one under "At least the baybee is okay".

Maybe it really is hard...

But I don't give a shit.

Let's cover a couple of things, shall we?

  • If you don't know what the title of this blog means, it's likely that you don't belong here.
  • I've created this place to ridicule those screwing up TMIJITW. If you don't like that, find the little "x" somewhere in the upper right hand corner of your computer screen. Hold your mouse over it. Click it. Problem solved.
  • For any who remain, I hope you enjoy it.
